Inspection Circle
Inspection Circle was formed on 1st June 1950
as a consequence of winding up the then
development branch of the P & T Directorate. It has
ever since been a functional wing of the Directorate
having jurisdiction over the entire country.
It inherited from the Development Branch the
functions of execution of major development
projects and the work of standardization & issue
of technical instructions.
Important functions
of Inspection Circle can widely be classified as follows:
1) Inspection Of Exchanges, Broadband Nodes, BTSs(GSM & WLL)
2) Acceptance Testing(A/T) of Switching Systems more than 2K capacity.
3) Acceptance Testing(A/T) of Transmission Systems more than 8 mbps capacity.
4) Issue of Engineering Instructions.
5) Power & Telecom Co-ordination Committee.
6) Publishing TELECOMMUNICATIONS journal.
7) Investigation of fire cases.
8) Sample check of installations Accepted and Tested(A/T'd)by Territorial Circles.
9) Providing Webbased Acceptance Testing Offer Managment System(ATOMS)for Territorial Circles and Corporate Office.
